Furthermore, the Jacksonville Business Journal presented Shuford's technology company with a BizTech Award for their design, development, and deployment of the self-funded Vets 22 apps,” stated Best in Australia. Shuford’s company Tech From Vets is a US-based technology company that's making a splash worldwide with revolutionary veteran-focused innovations. It was only a couple months prior when Shuford was bestowed the Presidents Award from the National Association of Black Accountants (Jacksonville Chapter), and earlier named the Top Emerging Veteran Tech Founder of 2017 by the Huffington Post. “Shuford is a well-respected advocate for veterans, who taught himself to code and realized that he had a strong desire to use his skills to help veterans access life-saving resources,” wrote Best in Australia in the list honoring Shuford.
In addition to Shuford leading his innovative company to bring home multiple technology awards, his personal story is becoming an inspiration to many worldwide. “I never imagined that my journey would spark the Vetrepreneurial growth in our City and beyond. Watching other veteran business owners and executives become the change that they want to see is rewarding on many levels,” stated Shuford after a recent presentation to the Jacksonville Military Veterans Coalition. “The 2018 Jacksonville Vetrepreneur Summit saw hundreds of veterans take advantage of the goods, services, and expertise provided by you…The success of this event was a direct result of your support and commitment,” wrote Retired Navy Commander Bill Spann in a recent letter to Shuford thanking him for his expertise. Spann distinctly serves as the Director of the Military Affairs & Veterans Department at the City of Jacksonville. Shuford is no stranger to successful veteran-focused events. Jacksonville’s first Vetrepreneur Summit was live streamed by over 30,000 veterans interested in growing and scaling their businesses.
“Another great event focused on the growth of veterans in the Jacksonville community and surrounding areas. I spoke with several Veterans that are excited about the information they received and are ready to move forward with starting new businesses in the Jacksonville community… Looking forward to 2019,” stated Drayton Florence regarding the event Shuford strategically advanced to Jacksonville’s Military & Veterans Department. Shuford recently graced the cover of the Jacksonville Business Journal and secured Humana as a recurring sponsor of his VA Breakfast. Under Shuford’s guidance Vets 22 has served thousands of distinguished veterans free breakfast at the VA Medical Facility in Jacksonville Florida.
