ATLANTA — Scaling one of the largest corporate philanthropic commitments in American history, The Home Depot Foundation has launched its nationwide 2026 Celebration of Service, expanding its landmark pledge to invest $750 million in veteran causes by 2030—with more than $650 million already deployed since 2011.
ATLANTA — Scaling one of the largest corporate philanthropic commitments in American history, The Home Depot Foundation has launched its nationwide 2026 Celebration of Service, expanding its landmark pledge to invest $750 million in veteran causes by 2030—with more than $650 million already deployed since 2011.
Running through Veterans Day, the campaign pairs transformational capital grants with hundreds of thousands of hands-on volunteer hours from Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate volunteer force. Together, they are tackling two of the most urgent post-service imperatives facing our nation’s heroes: critical home accessibility modifications for combat-wounded and aging veterans, and comprehensive skilled-trade workforce training to guarantee sustainable civilian careers.
To date, The Home Depot Foundation’s multi-decade campaign has directly renovated and rehabilitated over 50,000 veteran homes and facilities across all 50 states, ensuring former service members can age in place with safety, security, and dignity.
Capital Scale: Mobilizing Housing Independence and Trade Pipelines
The Foundation’s roadmap toward the $750 million benchmark focuses capital where infrastructure barriers most severely restrict post-military independence:
Zero-Barrier Housing Modifications: Partnering alongside leading national military service organizations, Team Depot volunteers install customized wheelchair ramps, construct ADA-compliant roll-in bathrooms, widen doorways, and repair roofing and HVAC systems at zero out-of-pocket cost to recipient veterans.
Skilled Trades Workforce Infrastructure: Through its proprietary Path to Pro network and dedicated military transition partnerships, the Foundation funds certifications, tools, and direct employment tracks for separating military personnel, veterans, and military spouses in high-demand construction, electrical, and plumbing sectors.
